In India, both NSDL and UTI provide PAN Card services. Both these come under the Income Tax Department of India. There is no major distinction between these two. NSDL and UTI take the same amount of time to process PAN applications. But it is the NSDL that has a greater number of offices and franchises in the country.
To get a PAN Card for UTI, visit the official website of UTI. Here, you have to fill a few basic details in the application form to apply for a new PAN Card.
After application, it normally takes around 15 working days for an individual to receive PAN card. The government has made it easy for the applicants to track the status of their PAN card application by providing a 15-digit acknowledgement number which can be used online/ offline for this purpose. It needs to be noted that tracking can be done after 3 days of application.
On the NSDL or UTI website, choose the application type (new PAN or updated information) and submit required details along with the 15-digit acknowledgement number, full name and date of birth. After the applicants submit the necessary information, a result page will be shown with the PAN card recent status.
On the website of NSDL or UTI, enter your date of birth and name in the tracking section for PAN Card application. Remember to enter these details in the requested format to get the PAN Card status by name.
Applicants applying for PAN card have an option to pay online via credit card/ debit card/ net banking or offline via demand draft. Now the transaction status is concerned only with online mode of payment. For this the applicants need to log on to official website of NSDL and navigate to "transaction status" page. Then, by entering the transaction number which is generated after payment along with name and date of birth, applicants can know the status of their transaction.
