How To Make Online Payment For Driving Licence
Driving Licence fees are applicable whenever you apply for a new Driver’s Licence, request for renewal, or apply for any other Driving Licence (DL) related services. The same goes for a Learner’s Licence (LL) and vehicle registration. You can pay the DL fees online at Parivahan website by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. You can also pay the fee offline at the RTO where the DL services are obtained from. After amendment in the Central Motor Vehicle Rules in January 2017, the Driving Licence fees have been updated. How to Pay Driving Licence Fees Online?
You can pay both LL and DL fees online on Parivahan website by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Here are the steps for the same:
- Go to the Parivahan website.
- Go to the tab ‘Online Services’.
- Select ‘Driving Licence Related Services’ from the dropdown menu.
- Now you will be redirected to a new page.
- From the dropdown menu, select the state where the RTO will issue you the Driver’s Licence.
- You will be redirected to a new page. On the left-hand side, click ‘Fee/Payments’.
- A new page will open with instructions about fee payment. Read these carefully, click ‘Proceed’.
- Now in the respective fields, enter your application number and date of birth.
- Click ‘Click Here To Calculate Fee’.
- Select the Gateway/Bank/Treasury method through which you want to pay the fees.
- Enter the verification code correctly that appears on the screen.
- Enter other details as required, and click ‘Pay Now’ and complete the payment.

It is possible to have multiple DLs from different states in India. But the same should have been obtained legally for you to retain. If you have acquired the licences in an illegal manner, then that is punishable by law.
There are no tax deductions on Driving Licences. However, if the DL qualifies for a business expense, then the same can be considered for tax exemptions.
Rs. 200 is the fee for DL taken for a four-wheeler. The cost for Driving Licence test in this matter is Rs, 300. The Driving Licence renewal fee is Rs. 200.
The fee structure is different for different driving licences. For instance, fee for a new international Driving Licence is Rs. 1,000, whereas the same for a new LL is Rs. 200. The fee to renew a Learner’s Licence is Rs. 200. The fee amount is Rs. 300 for a Driver’s Licence test and henceforth.
